I cannot thank my Home-Start east Lothian volunteer enough. She helped me find myself again, allowing me to enjoy my children again.
She helped me get a college course and helped me with any course work or questions I had. I am now into my second course and hope to apply for my HNC in August.
My volunteer helped me and my family budget money, understand universal credit and even came to the jobcentre with me.
We have had a few foodbank referrals through Home-Start during my time being supported. They were a huge help to us as a family.
My children knew my volunteer, who she was and what day of the week she was coming, even if they weren’t going to be there when she was coming.
I am now going to give something back by becoming a Home-Start East Lothian volunteer.
